Five Ways to Regain Control When Life Feels Like a Lot
We’ve all been there. The schedule’s packed, emotions are high, and suddenly you find yourself in the middle of a situation you didn’t ask for and can’t seem to fix. Deep breath, friend. You’re not stuck—you’re just in a storm. And here are five ways to start steering again:
1. Pray First.
Not as a last resort—as your first move. Even if all you can get out is “Jesus, help.” He hears it. Prayer recenters your heart and reminds you that you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
2. Get Honest.
Name what’s actually happening. Write it down. Say it out loud. Clarity helps calm the chaos. You can’t face what you won’t acknowledge.
3. Take the Next Right Step.
Don’t try to solve the whole thing. Just ask, “What can I do today?” Do that. Then tomorrow? Do the next thing.
4. Speak Truth Over Your Thoughts.
God’s Word is your weapon. Remind yourself: I am not alone. I am not defeated. I am still called. I am still loved.
5. Call Your People.
Reach out to the friend who prays, the one who listens, or the one who makes you laugh until your sides hurt. You weren’t made to carry this alone.
God is still in control—even when you’re not. And He’s not done working in your story. So take heart, sister. You’ve got this… because He’s got you.
