Peace in the Pause

“My peace I give to you.” — John 14:27

We rush through Christmas like we’re in the final lap of a reality show. Places to be! Gifts to wrap! Something in the oven that’s definitely burning! But peace isn’t found in the finishing. It’s found in the pausing.

Mary had every reason to run—young, overwhelmed, and carrying the salvation of the world. But Scripture says she pondered. She slowed down long enough to let the miracle sink in. She took time to reflect. Something we need to practice. When was the last time you took some time to ponder the miracle of Jesus? To reflect on His peace that passes all understanding?

You don’t need a weekend retreat or Scandinavian hygge décor to find peace. You need one quiet moment to breathe and remember who this season is actually about.

Apply it: Sit quietly for sixty seconds. Take a deep breath. Pray and ask Jesus for peace.
